This is a rigorous course with a higher GPA count and will include homework most nights.  Calculus Advanced Placement AB is a college level course requiring college level work.  Because this is an AP course, retests are not available.  The course is intended for students who have taken the Pre-Calculus Pre-AP course.  Heavy emphasis will be placed on the calculus concepts of derivatives, related rates, integrals and their applications.  Use of a graphing calculator will be essential.

Six-weeks’ grades will be weighted as follows:

                               Tests:      75%

                               Homework:   25%

AP Calculus BC

This is a rigorous course with a higher GPA count and will include homework most nights.  Calculus Advanced Placement BC is a second year calculus course.       Because this is an AP course, retests are not available.  Calculus AB concepts are extended to cover vector, parametric and polar functions.  Additional topics include convergence and divergence of series and sequences, power series, including Taylor series, and elementary differential equations.  This course parallels a second semester college calculus course.

Six-weeks’ grades will be weighted as follows:

                               Tests:      75%

Pre-Cal Pre-AP

This is a rigorous course with a higher GPA count and will include homework most nights.  This course is designed for students who have demonstrated a thorough knowledge of Algebra 2 and Geometry.  All the topics covered in the Pre-Calculus course will be covered, but they will be covered in more depth.  Additional topics will also be taught.  Homework is essential and will be assigned frequently.  Retests are available if a minimum of 70 is not attained on any test.   This course is designed to better prepare students for Advanced Placement Calculus.  The two main themes of study will be Trigonometry and Elementary Analysis.

Six-weeks’ grades will be weighted as follows:

                               Tests:      70%

                               Homework:    30%
