Mission Statement

The Hays Consolidated Independent School District library system is an integral part of the district's comprehensive instructional program. The mission of the library program is to provide curricular support and resources to further the personal development of the students.

GOALS
  1. Provide fully equipped library facilities, which serve as information centers for their campuses and support a full range of learning activities.
  2.  Provide access to information through a variety of print and non-print resources within the facility or available through technological means from other sources.
  3. Provide standardized organization of library resources for maximum accessibility and ease of use.
  4. Provide a program of library activities to support curriculum at all grade levels.
  5. Encourage users to become lifelong learners by providing them with the skills  to access, evaluate and utilize resources.
  6. Provide equipment and training to allow students to become creators of information.
  7. Promote use of the library and its resources to facilitate learning and reading enjoyment.
  8. Provide resources and activities reflecting diversity of experiences, opinions, and perspectives supporting intellectual freedom in accordance with the district's selection policy.
